Soil Stabilisation
Most foundation problems start in the soil, not the building. Reactive clay that swells and shrinks, fill that was never properly compacted, and ground washed out by leaks all leave footings without support. Urathane Solutions stabilises the ground itself: we inject a geo-customised resin that densifies weak soil, fills voids and resists water, so the structure above stops moving.

How resin soil stabilisation works
Resin is injected through small rods into the problem soil. As it expands it forces its way into weak zones, compacts the surrounding ground and binds loose material together. The result is firmer, less water-sensitive ground with higher bearing capacity. Where the structure above has dropped, the same process can lift it back towards level. Reactive clay: a common problem in Adelaide and Melbourne
Much of Adelaide and large parts of Melbourne are built on reactive clays. A University of South Australia study recorded significant seasonal ground movement at sites across Adelaide, shown below. Case study: heritage stone footings, St Peters
An early-1900s stone building had rotated out of plumb after years of reactive soil wetting and drying. We stabilised the soil beneath the full footprint with staged resin injection, then used propping to bring the walls back towards plumb. Read the case study.

FAQs
Is soil stabilisation the same as underpinning?+
They overlap. Soil stabilisation strengthens the ground, and underpinning restores support to a footing. Resin injection does both at once.
Will it stop cracks coming back?+
Stabilising the ground removes the cause, so cracks can then be repaired and should stay repaired. Our work is guaranteed for 10 years.
Do you need to dig?+
No. Everything is done through small injection holes.
